What We Believe

Alive is a proud member of the Wesleyan Church, a Christian denomination founded on the beliefs and practices of John Wesley and Francis Asbury. Originally part of the Methodist movement, the Wesleyan Church was birthed in1843 when they split from the denomination over their failure to adequately discipline slave-holding bishops. Today, Wesleyans continue to walk in the rich tradition of their founders—deeply committed to embracing Christ’s Kingdom ethic through both personal piety and societal justice.
